Privacy Policy

When you fill in a form on this website, we receive what you type or upload. Depending on the form, that can include:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Your preferred way to be contacted, and your text message consent if you choose text
• Your project address (street, city, state and ZIP), so we can check our service area and any travel fee
• Your household type, project description and organizing needs
• Photos you upload of the space
• How you heard about us, and a referral name or code if you have one
• Anything else you choose to share

Free guide requests collect your first name and email, used only to send the guide you asked for and, if you tick the optional box, occasional organizing tips.

If you take our optional "Find Your Starting Point" quiz, your answers are kept in your browser until you choose to continue to the Start a Project form. If you continue, they are included with your inquiry so you do not have to type them twice. Nothing is sent if you only view the recommendation.

The same applies to our other forms: the newsletter sign-up (first name, email and consent), and the Careers interest form (your details and résumé). If you text, call or email us directly, we also receive what you share in those messages.

When you submit a form, our form system also records the date and time, the page you were on, the website that sent you here (if any) and your IP address. This helps the form work and helps us tell real people from spam. The form system also sets a small cookie when you open the site, which records the time of your visit. It is used only to help block automated spam and stays valid for up to seven days.

• To respond to your inquiry and follow up the way you prefer
• To review your project and decide how we can help, including whether it is in our service area
• To prepare and send your quote, booking agreement and deposit details
• To schedule and provide organizing services, and to communicate with you before and after your appointment
• To apply a referral credit when a referral name or code is given
• To send the IRL Journal newsletter, only if you signed up for it
• To keep business and payment records
• To keep the website working and protect it from spam

When you submit a Start a Project inquiry, you receive one automatic confirmation email that your inquiry was received. It is not marketing, and no promotional emails or texts are sent without your separate, explicit opt-in.

Photos you upload are used only to understand your project and plan the work. We do not post your photos, or photos of your home, publicly without asking you first. We use your phone number to text you about your inquiry or project. We do not use phone numbers collected through the free guide form for promotional text messages.

Form submissions are stored in the WordPress system that runs this website. Each new inquiry is also emailed to the IRL Organizing business inbox. Uploaded photos and files are stored privately on the website, not in its public media library, and are shared through links that expire. Your information is available to Samanda Farkas and to the companies that host and maintain the website, only as needed to run it.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• With service providers that help us run the website and our business, such as website hosting and email, only as needed for that purpose
• With a payment service you choose for a deposit or balance (card, Zelle or Venmo). You give those services your payment details directly, and their own privacy policies apply. This website has no online checkout and does not collect card numbers.
• When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of IRL Organizing, our clients or others
• With your permission

This website links to other sites, such as Facebook and Google reviews. Their privacy practices are their own.

At the time of writing, this website does not use analytics or advertising tools, and we do not use advertising cookies. The only cookie we add is the spam protection cookie described above. Our website platform may also set cookies the site needs in order to work. If we add analytics or advertising tools later, we will update this page.

To make the website more considerate, it remembers a few things on your own device (in your browser's local storage): whether a helpful invitation has already been shown to you, and which of our services you have recently viewed so you can find your way back. This stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it any time in your browser settings.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Our forms have spam protection, and uploaded files are stored privately. No website or method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, bank account numbers or full card numbers, through our forms or by text.

We keep inquiry and client information for as long as we need it to respond to you, provide our services, keep business and payment records, and meet legal obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove identifying details. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

• Ask us to delete it, except for records we must keep
• Opt out of the newsletter or of text messages

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will respond to requests as the law requires. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on a request.

This website is for adults who want to organize their homes. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
